Read 2026-10-27 · every figure here is dated

Every figure on this site carries the date it was observed. The most recent observation in this data is 2026-10-27. This site is built from a dated file; it reads no shop’s page while you are on it.

How these figures are produced

What this site is

EgyRates compares the installment terms that shops in Egypt publish. It is not a shop or a lender, and it arranges no finance.

Each plan is shown next to that shop’s cash price for the same product, read on the same date. Everything here was visible to any visitor who was not signed in: we created no account, submitted no application and entered no checkout.

Where the numbers come from

We read the numbers from the shops’ own pages and from the installment cards that shops and their lenders publish, and each figure carries the date it was read.

Installment prices here have changed with less than a day’s notice; every figure is as of its date.

Where a shop’s own figures contradict each other, or its card can no longer be read, its plans are removed rather than shown with a warning.

What a plan row shows

Each row is one installment plan that a shop published for one product, from one lender. It shows the monthly payment, the number of months, anything paid upfront and the total you pay, and beside the total, the difference from the shop’s cash price for the same product. Open a row to see its effective annual rate and where each figure came from.

When two listings are the same product

Different shops’ listings on a category page are not claimed to be the same product. Where we have proof two shops sell the identical variant, it is one row of its own, and its page names the barcode that proves it.

For a phone, the proof is the manufacturer’s barcode, printed by each shop on its own page and compared digit for digit; a matching name, picture or price is not proof. Some phones are also paired on what each shop prints — model, storage, memory and colour — and those pairs are labelled, because they may be different regional versions with different warranties.

The cash price

Beside each plan is the shop’s cash price for the same product, as the shop’s own page showed it. On a marketplace listing sold by an independent seller, it is that seller’s price, not the shop’s own.

The date beside each price is the day it was read. A shop can change its price after that, so its own page may show a different price later on the same date.

What this site does not do

This site arranges no finance, and nothing on it is a quote: approval, credit limits and the final terms are the lender’s.

Plans of different lengths are shown together, ranked by total paid; longer plans usually cost more in total. Use the months filter to compare plans of the same length.

How to report an error

If you are a shop or a lender and a figure on this site misstates your published terms, write to [email protected] with the page address and a link to the published source. We check each report against our dated copy of the page: if we misread it, we correct the figure and record the correction on this page; if the page has changed since, the row already shows the date we read it. We reply within 7 days.

The details

The rest of this page gives the rules and the counts behind each section above.

How plans are read

5,504 of the 5,505 plans in the cross-shop comparison are the shop’s published rate card applied to that product’s cash price; 1 came from a shop’s own pricing service for that product. Both are shown the same way, and a row’s details say which it is. The rate-card method was checked against shops that publish both, but a rate-card row was not seen as a quote for that product itself.

Rate cards change: a plan read on one date can be repriced the next. When a shop’s card has changed since a plan was read, the plan is read again or removed, not shown with a warning. A lender that withdraws an offer is removed too, even though its rate was right when it was recorded. Where a shop’s stated rate and its stated monthly payment disagree, the plans from that card at that length are removed until they are checked again.

On this site, the most recent cash-price observation is 2026-10-27; installment terms were last verified between 2026-08-29 and 2026-10-27, as stated on each row. Individual rows are older where the shop was observed earlier; each row prints its own date and none of them is adjusted.

The effective annual rate

Open any row and it shows an effective annual rate. It is calculated only from the four numbers printed on that row. We solve for the monthly rate at which the money the buyer hands over — whatever is paid at signing, then each monthly payment discounted back to the day of purchase — is worth exactly the shop’s cash price for the same product on the same day. That monthly rate is then compounded over twelve months: (1 + r)12 − 1. Fees are treated as paid upfront, at signing.

Because it uses nothing but the payment schedule shown, any figure on this site can be checked in a spreadsheet. It is shown on the row it belongs to, it is never used to rank any table on this site, and it is never shown for a plan on this site whose own source contradicts it — those plans are removed instead.

The rate is a property of the plan, not of the lender. The same lender can appear at two shops with different rates, and does.

Phone pages

Phones are on this site under different rules, and they are counted separately from everything above. The cross-shop comparison holds 5,505 plans across 89 products. The phone pages hold 7,682 plans across 122 shop listings at four shops, and nothing on them is ranked across shops. The rate on an installment plan is set by the shop and the lender, not by the phone. Two shops’ listings are shown as the same phone only where each shop prints the same manufacturer’s barcode. A further 10 rows are bank card programmes, which are terms rather than plans and are in neither count.

Three further sets of rows are counted in the total at the foot of every page and in neither count above: 993 rows on the shop-by-shop pages described below, 6 rows on the two shops’ sides of a phone each of them prints the same barcode for, and 95 rows on the phone sides matched by what each shop prints rather than by a barcode.

Most phone rows are produced differently from a comparison row, and each one says so in its own details panel, in these words: this shop’s published installment card applied to the price this shop shows for this phone. 7,682 of the 7,682 are that; 0 came back from a shop’s own pricing service for that listing. A shop’s card is measured from listings that shop already prices, and it is used only while those listings agree on what the card does to a price. Where a shop returns installment prices from a pricing service instead of publishing a schedule, that agreement is re-tested at two different prices before any row derived from it is shown. If either check fails, the rows resting on that card are removed rather than shown with a warning attached.

That has one consequence for the effective annual rate above. It is solved against the shop’s cash price for the same product on the same day; on a derived phone row the price and the card behind it can be from different days. In this build the phone prices were observed on 2026-08-29, 2026-10-26 and 2026-10-27 and the cards were last checked against the shops’ own pages on 2026-10-27. Both dates are printed on the row that uses them, and the rate is worth exactly what that pairing is worth.

The count of who is selling, further down this page, is the cross-shop comparison’s. Phone listings are not in it.

Shop-by-shop pages

Some shops sell nothing any other shop on this site sells, so there is nothing to compare them against. Those are here shop by shop instead: 993 rows across 287 shop listings at five shops — Drowzy, El Masria Auto, IKEA Egypt, MAGRABi and ariika — of which 757 rows carry a plan and the rest carry a price and no plan. Nothing on these pages is ranked against another shop, because no other shop here sells the same thing.

A plan on one of these pages is built from the shop’s own installment card, read on the day of the build. One of the four cards is parsed from the shop’s own page; the other three are transcribed, and each transcription is held to sentences from the card that have to still be there — if one of them is gone, the card counts as unread and the page does not ship. The allowance on these cards is zero days and it is provisional: a card not read on the build date shows no plan at all rather than yesterday’s.

Three things on these pages are weaker than a figure elsewhere on this site, and each of the three is printed on these pages where it applies. One shop names no lender at all and publishes only its own words for the arrangement, which is what the lender column shows. One shop states its monthly rate as “approximately” a figure, and the rows are that figure taken exactly, with the shop’s own word beside it. And one shop’s own calculator adds an insurance premium that the rows here exclude — the card states that premium in three different ways, and the page prints all three and reconciles none of them.

Two shops read differently

One shop on this site publishes its installment terms as pictures rather than as text. Every figure here from noon Egypt is therefore a transcription of an image, checked against a second independent reading of the same image, not a value parsed from a page.

Those pictures also carry the dates the offer runs between. A plan from one of them is shown only while the window printed on its own card is open, and it comes off this site the day after that window closes — not because we judged the offer over, but because the shop’s own text says it is. Where a card prints no window, nothing is inferred and the plan is shown as dated.

That shop does not serve the machines that collect for this archive, so its pages are re-read from the operator’s own computer on a schedule rather than by the archive itself. A read that does not happen is recorded as a day those cards went unverified: the date on the row stops moving, its age shows, and the row is withdrawn once it is too old to stand. Nothing is filled in for a day nobody looked.

On this site, the date printed on a row from that shop is the date of the newest read that reached its page, taken on that computer and not by the archive, so it can fall behind the date of the build at the top of this page; once that read is more than 3 days old the row is withdrawn.

One shop’s plans here rest on a single published file: B.TECH’s installment terms are a rate card its finance partner publishes, and this site shows a plan from that shop only for a day on which that card was read. On a day it could not be read, no plan from that shop is shown at all, rather than an older one.

What you need to enter a plan

Two kinds of plan appear on this site and they are entered in different ways. A bank plan runs on that bank’s own credit card: you must already hold the card before you buy, and the plan is set up against it. A provider plan runs on an account with the finance company, approved separately. The distinction is on every table as a filter, and it is the one thing that decides whether a plan is available to you at all.

Bank plans need that bank’s own credit card. Provider plans need an account with the provider, not a card.

17 of the 33 bank programmes on this site have been checked against what the bank itself publishes, and the answer was the same on every one of them, which is why it is stated once here and once above each table rather than marked on every row. What differs between them is what else stands in the way — a card tier, a phone call to the bank rather than a click at checkout, an excluded card type, a maximum. 10 carry a condition like that, and it is printed on the plans it belongs to. Where a bank publishes a maximum, plans above it are not shown at all, because they are not plans you could take.

3 further programmes are stated only on the shop’s own campaign page for that bank, which publishes nothing of its own for the programme that we could find. Each plan says so where it appears.

The remaining 13 have not been checked. Their plans are marked as unchecked wherever they appear, and an unmarked plan is not a plan we have confirmed you can enter. Where a bank publishes the feature only on its credit-card pages without writing the requirement down, the plan says that too, in those words.

Which categories have a page

A category opens when at least 10 products in it have an installment plan at at least one shop on the day the site is built — counting a product proven identical at several shops once, and each shop’s own listing once where no such proof exists. Below that, the category has no page and is named here with its count instead. The counts are this build’s, as of 2026-10-27.

One exception: a category that has opened keeps its page while it has fewer than ten, for up to 14 days from the first day it has fewer; then, or on a day it is empty, its page closes, and it opens again only with ten.

Who is selling

Some of the shops here are marketplaces as well as retailers: the page is the shop’s, and the stock behind some listings belongs to an independent seller trading on it. Where a shop says so, we record it. Of the 203 product-and-shop pairs priced in the comparison, 104 are sold by an independent seller on the shop’s marketplace, 22 by the shop itself, on 4 the shop names more than one seller and does not say which of them this price belongs to, and for 73 the shop does not say — every marketplace listing here is at Raneen and noon Egypt.

This changes who you would be buying from; it does not change what a row on this site says. The price is the price that shop’s page showed for that product on that date, and the installment plans are the shop’s own — that shop applies one rate card whoever the seller is, which was checked across listings differing in seller, brand, category and fulfilment. What it does mean is that a marketplace listing can be repriced or withdrawn by its seller independently of the shop, and that a cash price on such a listing is one seller’s price rather than the shop’s own.

What these figures cannot tell you

  1. Advertised terms are not contracted terms. Every figure here is a published offer to an anonymous visitor. At least one lender’s own terms state that its financing percentage is set according to the credit limit granted to the customer and may change from one transaction to another. Approval, credit limits and identity checks sit behind a boundary this project does not cross. Nothing here is a quote.
  2. Cash prices move within days. Shops reprice tracked products between one observation and the next, and the installment total moves with the cash price. A page you saw last week may not price the same way now. Between 24 and 30 August 2026, 20 of the 32 products we tracked at one shop changed cash price at least once.
  3. Stock. Where a shop’s page showed the listing out of stock on the day its price was read, the row and the price say so and the price is kept as the shop published it. Stock is not re-checked when you read the page.
  4. Offers expire, and the window is short. At least one shop’s pricing service returns an expiry date on each offer, a few days out. Where a shop does not publish an expiry, we cannot tell you there is not one.
  5. A printed offer window is read from a picture, and it was read on a date. The dates on noon Egypt cards were transcribed from the images as they stood on 2026-08-26. A window that shop posts after that is not read here until someone reads the new picture; what stands in the meantime is a separate check that compares the artwork itself, and a card whose image has changed is treated as unread and its plans are withheld rather than shown.
  6. The comparison is only as wide as the shops that publish. On this site: 64 products at two shops and 25 products at three shops. Shops that publish no installment terms before checkout cannot be compared at all, and are absent rather than shown as blank. A product is compared across shops only when three or more different sellers have priced it, and it is shown when at least two of them still publish a plan for it.
  7. What is not modelled at all. Credit limits, approval odds, late fees, early-settlement penalties, insurance add-ons, delivery and installation charges, and any down payment a lender may require beyond the one published. These figures come from the shops, not from the lenders.

Product photos

Product photos are the shops’ own: the photo on a row is one shop’s photo of that product, taken from that shop’s product page. The shops whose photos appear here are being asked for their permission; a shop’s photos come off if it says no. Where there is no photo, the category symbol is shown.

Rows with a photo on the category pages, as of 2026-10-27: 387 of 466 (Furniture and home: 241 of 283, Smartphones: 70 of 94, Cooking appliances: 13 of 19, Refrigeration: 17 of 18, Washing machines: 17 of 17, Televisions: 8 of 14, Dishwashers: 12 of 12 and Vacuum cleaners: 9 of 9). By source: the shops’ own 387, manufacturers’ press images 0. The other rows show the category symbol.

This search matches whole words, the start of words, and model codes with or without their hyphens and spaces. In a word of four letters or more it allows one wrong, missing, extra or swapped letter, and it treats alef with or without hamza, ta marbuta and ha, and alef maqsura and ya as the same letter. Of Arabic written in Latin letters it knows a short list of words and no others.
